The WACFPO functions as
an advisor to the Vice President for Finance, Operations
and Treasurer, and has the following responsibilities:

To recommend policies,
programs or procedures which will ensure full freedom of
opportunity in employment for women support staff employed
by Michigan State University |
| |
To assist the University
community in the development of a favorable climate which
will enhance the status of women and provide for their consistent
advancement throughout the employment system to its highest
level. |

To alert the administration
to and recommend solutions for problem areas related to
women support staff |
| |
To serve as liaison between
women support staff and the University administration |
| |
To serve as a referral
source for women support staff and thereby identify and
refer problems |
The WACFPO welcomes ongoing
input from all women support staff. WACFPO's role is to
provide the Vice President for Finance, Operations and Treasurer
with a wide range of views on issues women support staff
face as MSU employees. WACFPO meetings are open to the public.
Women support staff are welcome to join us. We would like
to encourage you to contact members of the committee to
discuss any concerns you have that we can bring to the committee.
The meetings are usually held at 1:15 pm on the third Tuesday
of the month in room 443B Administration Building. |
The
WACFPO invites women support staff
at Michigan State University to
submit concerns and questions for
the Committee to consider. There
are three subcommittees operating
within this committee:
Benefits / Work
Climate / Health & Safety
Concern with all employee benefits
of the University; concern with
composition and characteristics
of the academic support workforce;
concern with issues relating to
employee health and safety on campus,
both personal and work-related
Diversity / Pluralism
Assess progress, develop and identify
issues that affect diversity and
pluralism related to the group
WACFPO represents; review the affirmative
action report on an annual basis
as well as other relevant documents
Training / Development
/ Communications
Concern with the personal and professional
enhancement of employees and liaison
to the Human Resources Development
